Need some help with a swing away steering car. PO disabled the shift linkage from the column and changed to a console shift. I am trying to go back to column shift. Is there unique linkage for the swing away column or not? Fortunately the correct column is still in the car. TIA
The lever coming out of the transmission is different on column shift. Not sure bout the Z bar. I'm not familiar with the floor shifts only know every time I changed transmissions I had to swap the shift rod coming out of the tranny.
Thanks for the pictures. Looks like I have the correct tranny, now I just have to see if the linkage works. I have the linkage from a non-swing away column hopefully it will work.
I never really thought about the linkage swingaway vs non-swingaway before and have only had this car for 40 yrs, never even looked at a non-swingaway car's linkage setup. Now you have me curious as to iff that makes a difference as far as the column shifting part goes. Now i'm going to have to look at mine a bit closer sometime
