C9TE heads...are they any good?

I have read about the 1969 C9TE heads and was wondering if they would be any good for moderately built daily driver 302. These are truck heads with a 58.5cc chamber. (Thats already lots better than my current 69cc smog heads.)I read in a Ford magazine that they have a different chamber, but I couldnt see any difference from the picture. Is this true? Are they a closed chamber head, like the other early 289/302 heads? Is there a disadvantage to use C9TE heads?

They will work fine on a "moderate built daily driver" as long they are in usable condition..Dave.

Are they considered closed chambers? They really dont have that "heart shape".

Thanks for the reply. I didnt think they were, but just wanted to be sure. Can anyone explain the advantage of having a closed chamber over an open chamber? Is it about better combustion?
