Any specs on these somewhere, I can't find anything.

Just curious what hp they have (not much!) and what can be done to get a little more from them.

No, I'm not replacing the engine.

I have a hot rod magazine from '61 that went into technical detail on the "new" ford 221 small block. It was an interesting article and I could fax the article to you if your interested. Some old chiltons manuals would have info too.

Gibble, you don't have a local" Mail Boxes Etc.", Kinko's, or similar place to get thier fax # from? They will recieve it & save for you to pick up for a minimal charge.....

I had one of those in the 63 Merc Meteor with the 2 speed Merc-O-Matic trans. It felt just as fast as my 72 Comet 302 C4 140hp, both bone stock.

Anyone know what colour these engines were painted?

I've heard black block gold heads, and I've heard blue.

Anyone know for sure?
