What size plugs can I use for the smog holes on a set of 85 heads.I am getting rid of the smog.Need help putting moyor in tommorrow eve.

I dont see no treads in the holes I think I need freeze plugs.

If they are 302 smog heads...then the threads are there. Those same holes are normally used to attach "front dress" accessories to the engine, AC/PS/AIR Pump brackets, so it must be threaded. Ford makes a specific insert (usually have to buy them at the local Ford store parts department). The insert is meant to block the unused port...making the head useful on both left or right side.
