Can this 2-bolt block handle up to 650-700 HP
as it's the only one available in my area or should i wait 3 months for a 4-bolt block to turn up cheers

FORD RACING 351W SVO SPORTSMAN BLOCK

The 2 bolt blocks hold up just fine. Which one are you looking at? The G351? There are several variations...all of which are capable of that amount of HP. I'm running that on a stock block...they usually last 2 seasons give or take before the mains break out.

i asked about the same block over here http://sbftech.com/index.php?topic=440.0 awhile ago, think it was pretty reasonably priced at segedens from memory, the 9.2 deck height was my reason for passing, and not being able to find much info on builds done using the b351

That block was last made in 2000 and back then (per the 2000 catalog) it states the same: 700 HP @ 7000 RPM.
It has nodular iron main caps. Will go .030" max.

Wow if it will only go .030 over that would be a big negative for me...Basically one rebuild and throw it away.

Surely it will go over .030! Im with you, if that was true...not really worth the investment.

Sounds like a true thin-wall casting from Ford. They say the limit is .030"....only a sonic check could prove that wrong.
