I have a 351w with a mild cam. headers and a wieand stealth manifold . I would like to hear the pros and cons between a Holley 670 "street avenger" and a Demon 650 "road demon". This engine is in a 67 galaxie with an aod trans. thanks

Re: holly vs. demon

I think that might be a bit to much carb for your car but also. I have the 670 street avenger and it leaks from the clear sight plugs cause they turn to rubber after a year also it was missing pieces when i bought it and it leaked from gaskets being installed incorrectly for 500$ when i got mine they were brand new i would have liked a bit more quality, also this is not a freak thing since I was 17 I am 23 now I have bought 4 brand new holleys none have worked right and all have been assembled incorrectly onetime I got an 750 and it was missing a front float and the read bowl had no gasket

Re: holly vs. demon

definately not too much carb by any means, on the issue of quality, I am under the assumption the Demons have gotten better, but there is no other carb maker that I know of that has the worst quality control inspection like demons did. 5 demons on varius projects in the last 3 years and they all have metal shavings scattered throughout them. They must be totally dissasembled prior to use, unless there better now. I like Holleys

Re: holly vs. demon

Holley all the way. The 670 should be a good CFM for you also. Tune the thing for your combo and you'll be just fine.

Re: holly vs. demon

if you go to the big block forum (460ford.com) youll see that nobody there likes Demon carbs AT ALL,and those guys put down some serious power, it speaks volumes about holleys to be recommended by serious enthusiasts.

Thanks for all of your feedback, and it looks like Iím going to use the holley carb a friend wants to sell me one he bought and never used. I just really liked the look of the demon but thatís not enough to justify buying one.
