Compression test numbers (SBF 289)

I'm getting ready to do a compression test on my motor and was wondering what numbers I should be looking for. The motor is a .030 289 with 9.6:1 flat top pistons.

It only has about 20,000 miles on it, but for whatever reason it's burning oil pretty bad. I'm hoping its valve guides and not rings......a perfect excuse for a new set of AFR 165's!

Thanks!

Just check that all of the readings are within 10 lbs or so of each other. In my 9.5:1 302 with a 300* advertised duration cam all of the readings were 160-170 lb. Replaced the cam with a 266* piece and all of the readings increased by 15 lb.
