Re: Sandblaster compressor requirements

Where in the hell does the air go when it's NOT being used????

Running constantly?

They work like a roots style supercharger. That would seem like an appropriate thing for any hot rodder to have.

Re: Sandblaster compressor requirements

Getting 3 Phase piped in will cost you more than that $5300.00 compressor. Everything I have made by Chicago Pneumatic is made in China sold by Harbor Freight. That's not to say it's not a good unit. Price seems reasonable if you have the wiring for it.

Re: Sandblaster compressor requirements

I think I'm gonna save up a bit and get a 60-80 gallon 5hp something. I figure the need for the blaster is relative, but I guess I'd find a need for the bigger unit. Die grinding, DA sander etc use up ALOT of air too so it might be worth it further. Too bad because the compressor I have now was almost free. Thanks for the feedback.

Central Pneumatic is Harbor freights brand, not Chicago Pneumatic. Big difference in quality. Harbor Freight did that on purpose to confuse us I think.

Dang right! Chicago Pneumatic has been around for over 40 years and have been some excellent tools!

Not sure where you are but I found a good used IR 5 horse 80 gallon makes 17 cfm at 100 psi (or something close to that) on Craigslist.com for a good price and it hasn't let me down yet. I've done pressure pot blasiting, cabinet blasting, DA sander etc. I broke a 60 gallon Husky unit 3 times before i gave up. I'm in DFW TX and we have a pretty active craigslist apparently some parts of the country aren't

Re: Sandblaster compressor requirements

And yes, it will be made either in Canada or USA, most are USA and not friggin China. This is important. I'm gonna look at local classifieds too.
