1960 Thunderbird electronic ignition

I have a '60 T-Bird with an early '60's 390 engine. When I restored it I converted it to an electronic ignition using a late '60's pickup distributor combined with a mid-70's Ford elcronic ignition distributor and control module. It worked fine for years but now has problems. I'd like to go to a complete after-market ignition system. Any ideas on what would work best?

On this vintage car, I would want to keep the DURASPARK II.

What kind of trouble(s) are you having?

If you are wanting to maintain an original appearance, a PERTRONIX II installation in an original distributor?

I get some hesitation during acceleration. I know it could be a carburation problem. I just thought it might be a good idea to go to something that I know was designed to work with this car. What I have on now I just pieced together using a wiring diagram and parts I could get.

Tip-in hesitation on your period car is usually an accelerator pump issue or a dist. advance issue.

If not happy with the DURASPARK II conversion, a PERTRONIX II install will give you what you want with it's being inconspicuous. The engine will appear factory with a hot ignition.

An aftermarket ignition system is not needed (IMO). If you have a road failure, where do you find parts quickly?
