Anyone done a 351C roller cam conversion?

Looking for feedback/experences from anyone whos done a roller cam conversion to a 351C.

-What parts/brands/part numbers did you use?
-Any problems incurred during the install?
-What length pushrods?
-General info from those who've done the job already?
-Internet links?

After wiping my 2nd cam lobe in 6years (different valves) I'm considering converting my cleveland to a roller cam... but is it worth the cost?

Thanks in advance for any responces!

roller cam is like any other cam to install and must be a grind for the use , same for the supporting parts . example you have a flat tappet cam , can you tell me what push rod lenght I need for mine

Re: Anyone done a 351C roller cam conversion?

Did the conversion about 8 years ago.
1) Comp cams "spider" conversion kit
2) Ford or Comp roller lifers..can't remember
3) Crane cam back when they were in business
4) Off-the-shelf Chevy pushrods that were dead-on
5) Harlan-Sharp roller rockers
6) Milled rocker pedestals and installed 7/16 rocker studs

I still have all the receipts to pinpoint which part numbers I ordered if it helps.

Re: Anyone done a 351C roller cam conversion?

I have a Comp Cams solid roller in mine and is strait forward. I used their direct oiling roller lifters and i mocked up and used a pushrod checker to get the correct length/moly pushrods. Used to have 8.65" with flat tappet cam, and with the longer roller lifters, i needed 8.45" pushrods. I put in the recommended springs and bronze distributor gear and went out had fun. No running in the cam was the best part

Re: Anyone done a 351C roller cam conversion?

I appreciate all the info sofar.

This is what I have for some components installed already:

Comp springs: p/n 911-16
COMP Cams: Single Outer Valve Springs: 1.524" O.D., 1.110" I.D.=

Comp Magnum Pushrods: p/n 7502-16
COMP Cams: Magnum Pushrods: 5/16" Diameter, 8.400" Length

Crane Rockers:p/n 13744-16
Energizer rocker arms. - Ch. 396- 454 V8 1.7 7/16" set/16

The heads are 351C 4v cc and have 7/16 studs and guides installed

My questions:
Can I use the currently installed springs?
What is this pushrod checker you speak of?
Am I safe going with the reccomended pushrods for the retrofit cam? (as listed in the link below)

Here is a link to the cam I am considering with ascociated recommended parts listed below the specs (look at the different spring pressures, and considerably shorter pushrods, and let me know what ya think):
32-421-8 - Magnum? Retro-Fit Hydraulic Roller Camshafts, Designed to put hydraulic roller cams and lifters in all 351C engines.
