78 400, only upgrades are Performer intake, Holley 670 card and headers. was running great with newly replaced alternator, dist cap, and plug wires. started missing at startup too bad to drive.
tried to check time with light that I'm not sure I trust, couldn't get a consistent lighting on #1 but #s 2 and 3 were going like crazy. Didnt want to pull timing cover so pulled valve covers and turned by hand. all valves looked to be moving good. Turned to TDC, both valves on #1 were closed and dist rotor was pointed toward #1.
Then tried swapping spark plugs. got the new ones in and started it up and its still missing but now it has a knock. Not sure where to look next
