Parts Availability for Classic Car Rebuild

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about parts availability. I'd like to say this wouldn't factor that heavily into my eventual purchase of a model to rebuild, but I just figured I could save myself some headaches if I went with a Ford that didn't send me on a scavenger hunt for available parts. I found an article about muscle restoration on a modern collision repair site, so I'm not sure if the info is all that informed but it says Mustang parts are pretty easy to find. As far as classic Ford cars go, is the Mustang the model with the most plentiful replacement parts or are there other models worth looking into?

Re: Parts Availability for Classic Car Rebuild

I think that now-a-days you could build an entire car from scratch with brand new Mustang parts. There is a lot of aftermarket support for Mustangs from pure restoration to wild custom and performance modifications. For easy parts availability, the Mustang is probably as good as it gets.
