I'm building an 89 5.0 with GT40 heads for a 64 Falcon. I'll be running a carburetor instead of EFI. Anyway, I want to run v-belts instead of serpentine but I'm not sure about the pulleys. I have read some threads in the past about old Ford pulleys being aggravating when it comes to getting the right diameter, offset, etc. I've got a mid 70's timing cover and I'll be running the older clockwise rotation water pump and a Professional Products balancer. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/pfs-80007/overview/make/ford What diameter and offset would work with my setup? Ford part numbers would be helpful also. I won't be running A/C right now but may add it in the future. I also won't be running power steering either. From what I've seen, Ford used a 3 groove balancer pulley and two groove water pump pulley if running PS and A/C and the idler pulley that mounts on the front of the engine. If I do add A/C later, I would rather just run two groove pulley's. I've seen some people do this. Right now I would settle for single groove. I know you can get black anodized aluminum pulley's but I really wanted original Ford steel. Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.
