I have a problem with my C6. It will go into reverse, park, neutral but not into gear. I have check my racket shift and the linkage and it seams fine. Any ideas what the problem could be.

A few possibilities.

Low fluid level.
Linkage out of adjustment.
Burnt clutches.

Drop the pan and look for any junk in it.

Is this something new or has it been slowly getting worse?
Check the fluid level while the engine is idling in Park.
Will it go into any forward gears?
Was it just rebuilt?

Is it SHIFTING into the Gear and not ENGAGING?

Or is the shifter NOT going to the selected position?

It just started. It was driven forward and then was backed up and then would not go back into gear. I smelled the fluid and it doesn't smell burnt. I also check the shifter and the linkage and cable and they are also good. I haven't had time to drop the pan. It was race about month ago and everything was fine. I sold the car to a cousin so unless he did something he isn't tell me Im not sure.
