I bought my C6 from Broader and he has shipped it to Belgium so no problem at all for Sweden.

Re: c4 or c6

$1330 + $150 for shipping to the USA?
I think you can save a bunch getting it at Broader.

Re: c4 or c6

Paul,
I'm not trying to stir up a debate here but a comparable trans from Broader is $1,650.00 plus shipping with no converter. Am I missing something?

The guy from Sweden may not want or need a race type trans, so Broader
may be the hot tip in his case.

My point was not to take anything from Broader just point out options.

Re: c4 or c6

Here is an excerpt from Jay's price list - for 500 hp C4 for the small block pattern (351W)

"C4 Transmissions:

500 Horsepower Street/Strip
A quality rebuilt unit with several upgrades including
weld reinforced forward drum,
5 clutch direct drum,
carbon/Kevlar lined front and rear bands,
oiling system modifications,
performance shift improvers,
red lined clutches
modified forward planet with roller bearing
Choose from stages 2-4
Price: $850.00"
That is all he will need. He will need to add shipping and if he needs a converter it will be extra. He can use just about any of the bell housings and flex plate combos - 157 or 164 - and Jay has the appropriate converters for an additional cost.

Here is the ad on e-bay:
This is a decked out competition Ford C4 transmission with a full manual, reverse pattern, transbrake valve body. This high performance transmission features the following:
  • Transbrake valve body
  • Full manual shift
  • Reverse shift pattern (P-R-N-1-2-3)
  • Rollerized gearset
  • Hardened input shaft
  • Reinforced forward drum
  • Billet servo
  • Now with a deep aluminum pan
  • High performance frictions
  • Rated to 800 HP
  • Dyno tested prior to shipment
  • 6 month warranty
  • FREE 9.5" C-4 converter that we'll custom stall anywhere you want it. Converter is built with anti balloon plates, fully furnace brazed fins, and Torrington bearings (additional converter upgrades are available upon request). We will need to know the size of your flexplate (157T or 164T) in order to build the correct converter. ***Please note that this converter is for a SMALL BLOCK FORD ONLY with a flexplate that has the stock style dish.*** If you have a big block or the flat style flexplate, please add $150 to your payment and we'll build you a converter with a 1 pc forged front cover.
Shipping to a business address is a flat rate $150 anywhere in the 48 continental states (add an additional $80 if delivered to a residence). Please allow 10-15 business days after clearance of funds to ship from Redneck Performance.
***Please note that transmission does not come with a bell housing (unless purchased separately). Transmission will be a case filled C-4 so you will need a case filled bell housing that bolts to the pump.***
Additional parts available upon request (bellhousing, flexplate, blockplate, dipstick, mounts, cooler).

It doesn't mention the additional clutches, or oiling mods and it is a race-only C4 for small blocks. Aside from the manual valve body and "free" converter (the $450 difference?) compared to the additional clutches, improved oiling and cooling that Jay's has they are pretty close except in cost.

If you are in the Northern California area Len Schnieder makes a mean C-4.He has them behind many West Coast drag racers including a 64 Thunderbolt 427 that runs low 9's. ROY.

Re: c4 or c6

I have a link here that shows HP losses for different transmissions. 28 hp for a c4 and 55 to 60 for a c6. That's worth about 3/10 ths in the quarter mile. Besides the c6 is heavier and takes a larger tunnel, and transmission mount than a c4. A well built c4 will handle 1000 hp, easy.
