Last trip of the year with son's 67

Our last race of the year was at the Texas Motorplex, the premier 1/4 mile track in Texas. Anyway we had a great time and my son went through 29 cars to eventually WIN the finals. He also got a dead on dial sticker and several .0XX lights. He is getting a reputation after just three or four races.

With regard to the car, we opted to only make one change this time and that was the addition of a 1.5 Wilson Spacer. This is a spacer I used on my old engine with the same intake and it made a noticeable difference.

Best 1/4 time was 13.40
Best 1.8 time was 8.67 .........previous best was 8.80
Best MPH was 103.7 MPH
Best 1/8 MPH was 84ish..... previous was 82ish
Best 60' was 2.04..............previous Best was 2.09

The car pretty much ran 13.43 to 13.46 all day. The weather was very comparable to last time out. We also weighed the car at 3040 lbs and 3185 race weight.

I think the car will easily hit 12's with a converter and the 3.73 gears we have in the shop.

Don't know how cool it is in your area but that cool fall air is great for the numbers isn't it.
Congrats on the win and a good day.

Thanks guys. Daytime highs were in the mid 70's. I think with some high 50's we would definetely pick up a bit more. Now we need to finish my car so we can race together next year.

Man, your son sounds like one heck of a racer!
That is a very nice increase with the carb spacer. Can't wait to see how the car responds to a good converter.

Yea, its driving me effing nuts. The engine bay is finished and ready for primer. I should have it done this weekend, then a few more block and prime evenings followed by a little paint. Everything else is pretty much ready to go back together. I only wish I would have had the coin to do the dart block this time.
