1964 gas tank

To All,

For everyone that has been wanting a 1964 Fairlane replacement gas tank, I'm told by a company that sells over 400 models for just about everything except the 62 thru 65 Fairlane that our wait is over. I recently purchased a windshield from Auto City Classic, INC and they have confirmed that the 1964 Fairlane tank is being reproduced and projected to be ready sometime between late April and the summer. Dont know if anyone else has heard this but great news. Just wanted to get this out there and if you know of other Fairlane parts suppliers that sell reproduction fuel tanks, check and see if they have the same report. I'll keep in touch with Auto City and when available I'll forward the news right after I buy one.

Re: 1964 gas tank

I posted pknkmdg's message on the Fairlane Club of America's forum and Bob Mannel (62-65 Fairlane and sbf guru) posted this:

I talked to Tim at Auto City Classic and he confirmed that they had gotten them reproduced (1962-65 Fairlane and Meteor). He expected them in two-to-three weeks. He said they were exact reproductions and would sell for $249.

Having said all that, I would be cautiously optimisitic. He have not seen one yet. Once we do, then we can determine if they are exact reproductions. But, this is better news than no news!
