66 fairlane convertible convert from automatic to 5 speed manual

Any suggestions on a good kit to convert from an automatic to a 5 speed. Pedals, hydraulic clutch, tremec tranny? ...

Thanks

Re: 66 fairlane convertible convert from automatic to 5 speed manual

The tranny parts are common as far as 'kits', but the car-specific parts like clutch pedals are something you have to source for the individual car, as there are so many variations of hangers and pedal assemblies. While a clutch pedal assembly can often be fabricated on aan automatic pedal assembly, it's usually preferable to get an original. Folks I'd ask for leads and options are Steve at MustangSteve.com or Day Bresnan at DazeCars.com.

Re: 66 fairlane convertible convert from automatic to 5 speed manual

Take a look at the latest issue of Car Craft. It has an article on converting a Maverick to a T5. They used parts of the Fox body Mustang clutch pedal assembly to modify the Maverick's brake pedal assembly. Their total cost for conversion was just under $600, but they somehow bought a good T5 with bellhousing, flywheel, and clutch cable for $300.
