Lowering the 68

My car seems to sit to high. After dropping alot of weight off the motor ect ,it just keeps going up .. Im looking to drop mayby 2-3 inches ... Ive herd of the shelby drop and just cutting coils or ordering new springs...

what did you do ? pro's cons ?

The benefit of the Shelby drop is an improvement in the suspension geometry in addition to lowering the ride height. Just cutting the coils or new springs doesn't fix the camber issue. I do recommend new springs to lower the rear though. Lowering blocks will increase driveline stress because of the greater moment arm they create.

I cut one coil in the front of mine. Looks good, drives good. Depends on how low you want it, how much you want to spend etc...

The stock suspension geometry tends to gain positive camber as it compresses. The top of the wheel moves outward.

I think I will do the shelby mod and order a 1" drop set of front springs. That should bring it down some and help with handling.
