Painting New Leaf Springs

Ordered new rear leafs for the 64 and they arrived with a parrafin/wax like covering on them. I want to paint of course before reinstall. How do I prep these for paint? Will be a huge job to try and strip the coating. Any ideas?

Re: Painting New Leaf Springs

Wash them in Thinner, then give them a good scrubbing with some Scotch-Brite, then shake that can and let 'em have it.
