Hi I have just traded for a 2door sedan with a 6cyl & a 3speed
I'm looking into how others have done their falcons and what I'm wondering is ... did that side trim with the chrome that i see most hardtops with come one any sedans? Mine has a falcon emblem that I have only seen on sedans, so I was assuming this is how it came. Also if anyone has more info on this car as far as trim styles or just differences between the sedans and hardtops I would like to hear it. I love the hard tops but I stumbled onto this sedan in good condition so....

I'm pretty sure the side trim only came on hardtops. I have trim on my '65 and will keep it but it's a pain to wax and clean because of it. Just another thing to slow down the process and a place for water to hang out until you start driving.

If you really like the trim idea look into a good air brush artist and have them paint on a look-a-like trim. I've seen it done and it looks really nice.

Besides I doubt you'd ever be able to find it. That side trim is nearly impossible to find at a reasonable price and the dozens of holes and clips you'd need to drill and install would be a real pain in the butt.

Just my two cents.

a 65 sedan could come with no trim at all on the sides other than a small bird with FALCON on it on the back of the front fender. Another version had a piece of trim on the fender and half on the door with a black bird in it. also a version with the Futura trim as with the car posted in the pictures above..

Another note worth mentioning is that what you can't see on my car below is that the area where it's painted blue is not the side of the car itself but another trim piece. It's a narrow strip of metal that mounts inside the trim pieces. Also the side emblem on the front fender says "Futura", not Falcon (because it is a Futura optioned car) and the Falcon letters on the rear quarter panel are individual letters which also have their own mounting holes so the sides of my car has dozens of holes along the sides.
