64 galaxie disk brake swap from 74 torino problems no adjustment

Sorry if I offended?

I'm looking to use something like these on the spindles.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/65-73...09143706QQrdZ1

Hence my need. Ideally, I could find someone that needs 77-79 Cougar/LTD II parts, because I have a setup that is taking up space.

No offence taken, best thing to do is put those brakes on ebay if your going a different route. I would definetly do a swap with you and buy a case of beer if we were a little closer. Sell the Brakes $200 bucks on ebay split it with me and I will send you both drums and spindles.

I just need to verify the bolt pattern of both the galaxie drum, and those brackets. Any idea on the galaxie drum bolt pattern?

no no, not the wheel pattern.. I mean the pattern of where the drum hardware/backing plate attaches to the spindles. 4 bolts.. I'm not sure of the spacing

you could... it might be easier to simply measure center hole to center hole both height and width.. if it's like that bracket I linked to, it should be a rectangular pattern around 5 x 4" (I'm guessing, I emailed the bracket designer).

hi new to forum i have the 12" brakes off the full size cars on my 64 had to remove all shims and lower the car 1 more inch to get correct camber also had to have the rotors redrilled to 5 on 4 1/2 the t-bird rotors would not work due to bearing missmatch when i did the rear end i had my new axles drilled with both patterns so i can run 5 on 5 for more strength and more wheel options since im running 18 and 20 wheels

was thinking about the location of the ball joint hole in the spindle. what if you cut a taperd plug on a lath drove it in and redrilled the hole and taperd it closer to the inside? you wouln't compermise the intregity of the metal. also on useing the stock spindles to put rotors on. what if you milled a sleave for larger bearings or would that transfer the weak point to behined the outer bearing? anyway just fodder for the mind.

It's been a thought on moving the hole on the spindles a little closer to the out edge for the top one. This would fix some of the spindles that have the hole drilled to close towards the engine side for correct alignment. When you choose a set try to get the ones that are in the min measurements per one of my postings. My Galaxie turned out fine.
