I even have bigger steering wheel , it is from non powersteering car.
Even I do not use swing-away.. . totally useless system..
Well, my legs are quite near steeringwheel, and seat is always way back.-

Re: More amps ?

A 3G alternator can be had for about $100.00
Ebay Motors search for 3G

One possible listing

Hey Mr. K,
I had a friend who died in 2001 who was 43" tall, and weighed over 400 lbs. No, HONEST!

He was a former "leatherneck" in Charlie Company, First Batalion, Ninth Marines, and fought in the battle of KheSanh in VietNam.

He survived that with but a shrapnel wound to his right bicep.

He got back to Nuevo Yawk with enough money to buy a Chebby Convertible which he crashed on the Major Degan Toll Way, and lost both legs.

Before he lost his legs he was almost 7'-0" tall. After he lost his legs, he put on a LOT of weight because he loved to eat, and didn't get any exercise.

He and I used to go all over the place before I got this liver problem, because Ms. American was the only car around that was big enough and had doors wide enough for him to get into!

Are you really 8'-8" tall?

JC

Re: More amps ?

Cheapest way would be to swap brushholder which most certainly contains a voltage regulator, about 20 euros?

Honestly, I do not know for sure. my guess is that the 4G and 6G are a little smaller than the 3G and have different mounting tabs. The reason I recommended the 3G is because it is basically the same size and shape as a vintage alternator and will be easier to retrofit to your car.

So seriously how tall are you??? I am 6'4" and there is not a lot of room to spare in my 62 Galaxie.

Hey Daze,
He said he was 8'-8" and 292 lbs, which is about 140 pounds below what he should weigh at that height! You don't think THAT is serious? But what you have to remember is that his Gal is a convertible!

6' 8" is taller. Inches and feet get confusing for people who are used to metric. For me it is other way around.

6' 1" = 180 cm approx.
6' 8" = 198 cm approx.

Maybe that will be easier for you. I had to cheat and find a converter to figure it out. LOL

But as long as you can get in the gal and drive who cares!!

Re: More amps ?

Use a 3 G alternator from a early 90's Taurus with a 3.8 L V-6. It will measure 7" between the mounting hole and the adjusting hole. Mounting hole will be metric, get the bolt when you pull it off at the junk yard. Also get as much of the wire loom as you can. 3 G's come in 3 amp ratings 200, 130 and 95. Also make sure you use a mega fuse in the wire between the alternator and the starter solonoid. And at least a #8 wire. Take the pulley that comes on it off and install the one from your old alternator with out the fan. There are some good wiring diagrams on the FE forum and early Bronco forums.

NO, not really, just 203 cm

lets do maths..
so i am 203 cm , foreign measurements are not familiar,

lets check
8 feet is ... 243 cm too much...
7 feet is ... 213 cm too much....
6 feet is .... 183 cm , okay
8 inches ... 20,32

total is about = 6' 7" 7/8
