Hubcap identification, what have I got here?

I'm pretty sure these are factory original, however, one set of beauty rings and nut covers were on my 65 galaxie when I bought, the other set, the ones with the solid chrome and white center ring, were in the galaxie wagon I bought for parts. Can anybody tell me if these are factory nut covers? if so is there anything special about them?

Were they universal? On both cars and trucks? somebody told me the beauty rings and nut covers that came on the car(pictured on the left) were a, "police special" though I've never heard that before or since.

Re: Hubcap identification, what have I got here?

dog dish is a style all stock ford steel rims will fit them providing it's the correct diameter cap. 13's on 13's and 15's on 15's etc...

The one on the right I've seen on MANY 59-64 F-100's and early 60's Falcon vans throughout the years...

I've seen the one on the left on station wagons and trucks and vans

Re: Hubcap identification, what have I got here?

I'm sure they were used on a few different models but the first ones would be used on a '65 Custom 500, cop cars and taxi's so they would be correct for your '65. Mustangs and Fairlanes had different ones. and as FE says they could be on Econoline/Falcon vans.

The other ones definitely say 50's to me and where used on 55, 56 cars but the early 60's cars used similar but with different larger Ford script. Do an image search for 55 Ford Mainline and you see those caps.

I have four what looks like the 65 dog dish caps, but the letters "FORD" seem to be more outstanding.

Anyway, they fit on my 64's 14" wheels.
