Choke Pulloff Clearance Setting Autolite 2100
I'm trying to properly set the choke pulloff on my '63 with the stock 2100 carb. 352, Auto. All other settings (including bellcrank) are set to spec, and the car is running well. It just idles too rich on cold startups. i.e. choke plate is not opening quite enough. I was messing around with settings, and got everything way off, so now I want to set it back to spec and fine tune from there.
On page 3-10 of the 62-63 shop manual, it mentions a procedure to set the choke plate clearance where you turn the choke housing 1/4 turn counterclockwise then press on the choke plate until you feel resistance. Then put a drill bit of the specified size in the opening to set the clearance. It then says "refer to specifications for the drill size." For the life of me I can't find anything about the drill size or choke clearance in the specifications section. Does anyone know what size bit it is, or a good way to approximate it?
Or if anyone has a link to a FREE version of an autolite 2100 specifications booklet, that would help as well. I had one when I rebuilt the carb a few years ago but seem to have misplaced it.
