Early Bird Swap Meet in Puyallup?

The early bird is coming up the 15th and 16th of February, anyone going to be there? I don't know if i'll be able to visit at all but will be there helping out the Model T club with setting up and whatever. I have no clue what i'll be doing but figured i had nothing better to do and it's at least car related!

Re: Early Bird Swap Meet in Puyallup?

I'll probably be there for a while right at opening. My son is looking for some fuel injection stuff for his car, and we always have a long list of stuff to keep an eye-out for.

My wife is excited about the Portland Swap Meet I always go to in April. Awesome meet, and largest on the west coast. This year she made reservations across the river so she can go too, and stroll the little shops 'n stuff while I'm cutting deals at the meet.

Re: Early Bird Swap Meet in Puyallup?

That's great Psig! Make it a family outing so to speak. Never been, but i don't go to any of them much. I should tell my son to check it out if he's not having to work. He still needs a mirror for his mustang and the one time there was a convertible at the upullit he wasn't interested. Of course those aren't there often and it's the only one's i've seen with the pedestal style even though a junkyard guy told me they are on the coupes sometimes too. Something i haven't looked into yet either is if there is a difference in sun visors between HT and convertible.

Re: Early Bird Swap Meet in Puyallup?

Jozy i have yet to make it to any of the caffeine and gasoline things at Griots. Do you know anything about them maybe not having the friday cruises this summer and maybe only doing it monthly? Chasing rumors as usual out here.

The corvette swap is this weekend but i won't be going. Fyi, greg is doing the cruise this saturday again at kmart on 6th ave at 11:45 then to premium and i guess this time out to Owens beach to meet with some other car club. Last weekend louie and i left and didn't go to the beach and supposedly there were 2 other clubs down there. But i only believe half of what he says. 30 cars might actually be 10 or 15 is what we say. lol Only cause there was always a lot of cars at the cruise the weekends we aren't there So if you have nothing to do at that time or around 1 can probably catch them at Owens or Premium Motors.

Larry, maybe i'll see ya again this year or should i say maybe i'll be hearing voices saying 'shotrod' in my head again! That was pretty good. lol

About 4 hours away for me. I've heard you guys have some great swap meets, but haven't made it up to one yet.

Re: Early Bird Swap Meet in Puyallup?

Narrowing in on your location. It takes me bout 4 1/2 to get to Monroe OR. I had asked where you were located on the clip thread in the galaxie section.

As for swap meets, there's a big one in Portland every year and one around Salem but can't remember the name of the burg there. My dad always goes and unloads some junk. Seems like there's a couple of them down in that area.

Portland swap meet is always a destination for us. Are you thinking about the Canby swap meet? I'm in Corvallis.

Re: Early Bird Swap Meet in Puyallup?

Yep think that's the one. Is that the same one too that does the steam up or steam something that has all the old steam engines and such. If not then that's another one he goes to. I think Rickreall is another one. Never been to the Portland swap, driving to portland seems like it takes a lifetime from here.

Corvallis! I get off the freeway in Albany and come down 20 into Corvallis to get home. Years ago i worked and lived at the Benton Hotel. I'll most likely be on my way on the 28th, Thursday. Maybe have to stop on the way and say hi somewhere. I always have to stop and say hey at the King Kone on old salem hwy in Albany and get my junior king kong burger. Ever been there? Dumpy little place been there over 35 yrs that i know of. First went there when i was 19 or 20 and it was old then. King Kone - Albany, OR

The Portland swap meet is an event you don't want to miss. It's not your average swap meet. We go up there and camp for three days at the raceway.
Next time you're down, pm me and I'll try to meet you for a burger.

I was told i would be out in the back 40 selling spaces or something like that. I'm working with the Model T club people. A friend is supposed to be there too that i need to drop off a sewing machine to hopefully before then so i don't have to carry it far as it weighs bout as much as the intake on my car. lol I'll pm my number if you don't have it so you can find me as i have no idea where i'll be.

Sounds like a plan! One of the NW galaxie club people down there wants me to stop next time i pass through also so he can look at might car and see if he might be able to fix it. He said he'd probably be up my way before i'm down there but who knows. I'm passing through on May 29th but that's a weekday which makes it difficult to visit as everyone is at work. But might be able to on my way home the following sunday. I'm headed down for the Function 4 Junction cruise. Always leave here on thursday so i don't have to deal with portland on a friday
