I've got a lot going on but I did manage to finally get a 3g alternator installed on my gal and after checking charging voltage, Im getting 14.51 volts, is this too high? I seem to remember that 14.2 - 14.4 volts should be normal.
That sounds great. It will reduce as the battery charges - if loads are low. Typical running regulated voltage is generally 13.8 to 14.5V, though as high as 15.5V in cold temperatures. Most 3G conversions I've done will shoot straight to 14.6 to 14.8 after starting, and settle fairly quickly to about 14.4 to 14.7 to properly recharge the battery, dropping lower on a long drive. 13.8 is the minimum just to maintain charge with no loads.
