My 1968 XL is not a GT

First part of the Marti Report received says my 68 Galaxie in not a GT.

The buyer bought heavy duty suspension, disc brakes etc that come with the GT but he did not buy a GT package.

Re: My 1968 XL is not a GT

Hello Auguste,

I'm sorry your car didn't pan out to what you thought it might be. But on the flip-side if you truly love your baby, it shouldn't matter one jot. If you like the GT thing, make it a clone, make it to what you want to what makes you the happiest. The thing I've noticed with old full size Fords are the low retail values. Sadly there's little market for these, flipping them is nearly impossible to make anything worth ones time and on a standard galaxie 500 you could spend 50-60 grand on a professional restoration and it's only worth around 12 grand on the market.

What I'm trying to say, people who are into galaxies do so because they love the car, labour is a complete write off and so are just about any new parts that are invested in it. Make your XL fun, make it what you want out of it and just enjoy it

Cheers.

I couldn't say it any better than Desert did. A 68 XL is a nice car regardless of whether it's a GT or not so do what you want with it and enjoy it. I've spent way more on my car than it's worth but I could care less. You don't see many Galaxies on the road and you will get more thumbs up from folks who appreciate what a truly nice car you have...enjoy it!
