Car Craft Summer Nats
The Car Craft Summer Nats are this weekend in Minneapolis. Anyone on here planning on going? I'm pre-registered with the Torino and hoping that it still runs by the end of the week. If it is I'm driving it. Then I'm hoping it runs for 10 hours on the interstate. If it doesn't still run by the weekend I'll take the Lightning, good to have a back up plan

I'll be there as will a bunch of my friends. What's cool is it's only about a 2.5 hour drive from my back door!

Yep, I'll be there Sat. You'll have to check out my friends car, it'll be up on the hill towards the end. Yellow fox mustang, tubbed, with a 500+ c.i. nitrous motor. Totally streetable but he has run 8.78 (yes quarter mile) so far with a mild tune. Really nice car. Look for an orange 70 mach. Mine is usually the only one. We are going to try to get in near the dyno, but that might be about impossible. Thought about bringing the tubbed car but it would be too expensive for 2 cars. Stop by and say Hi!

They haven't had the demo derby since 01. 02 was the first year I went. In 02 the grandstand was under construction and tehre wasn't even a burnout contest. I've been there every year since 02. It was a much shorter drive when i was in Nebraska. It's a tad over 700 miles now.
BLstagin, if you happen to catch a light yellow fastback Torino with gigantic body colored steelies as you look around stop by and say hi. It'll problaby be parked with a bunch of 90's T-birds/mark VIII's/Cougars and/or a bright orange 66 Charger with a Daytona style wing and a Sonic Blue 05 mustang that's dropped with Chrome 18's and wide white racing stripes.

It's been quite a while since it was happening, but my wife and I went to the nats. I have to admit I was fairly dissappointed in the quality/quantity of the cars there. Was expecting better.
Probably won't go back next year.
(and I live only 45 minutes away)...............:>(

Man, i thought i had high standards for shows and I love teh CC nats every year. You've got some brutal standards for a good show. Sounds like you might need to stick with indoor stuff.

I don't have high standards, just don't like bondo buggies/rattle traps/half done stuff.
Maybe all the nice stuff had left (or was out cruising when I was there).
In all seriousness, there WAS alotta ratty looking vehicles there.
Indoor stuff.....................whatever...............
I'd rather go to the dragstrip and see nice cars being BEAT on! :>
