I'm still speachless and in shock of what I saw today. About the end of March I was on a delivery out in some back road, farmland in a quaint, tight little valley. A nice windey road that was taunting in the truck but would make for a fun drive in the right car. I told myself I should come down here for a drive in my car one day but then thought about how the start of the road is an hour and a half drive from my house. Then out of the corner of my eye I see a light reflection, any car guy who has drooled over the potential some people have sitting, rotting in their fields but won't give em up, would know of exactly the kind of sparkle I'm talking about. A reflection off some glass so I looked and saw it was off the windshield of a car in the bushes. Then I saw another and another and another, all lined up. I slammed on the brakes (lukily there is very little traffic on these back roads) and had to look harder, there was another row even and I was sure I saw a third and possibly a fourth. I had to keep going though as I was on shift, I just vowed I would have to definitely bring my car this way for a drive some time and do some door knockin. So anyways, I managed to have a day to myself today (May 31/08) and decided I was going for that drive. I go down the road and now of course all the trees have bloomed and there is much more coverage so I actualy drove past it once but then I found it again. I went to the nearest house and knock on the door and a nice 60ish yr old lady answered the door. So I asked whos cars they were and she said they were her husbands but he was oout working on the tractor. So I went and found him and asked if I could go look at them. He was hesitant at first because a few years ago some one had found them and smashed a bunch of the windshields. Other than that, only one other person had asked about them since he started collecting them about 30 years ago. So after a bit of chit chat he agreed to take me up to where they were so I could take some pictures but only on one condition. I TELL ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WHERE THEY ARE. Of course I agreed and asked if I came back in 2 or 3 years if he would sell me one or two. His reply was "yeah I don't see why not, as long as you don't send anyone else around here", so of course I agreed to it. So he takes me up there and the "entrance" has four large trucks (dumptruck cabs on frames) sitting there on the right, and then a blue ranchero on the right. I take a couple pictures and then my camera battery dies. He said that's as far as he's going to take me and that I could look around if I wanted to. So Now I was on my own and I walk up to the next level of the forest. Now I'm in between two rows of vehicles. On my left is a row of 50's Meteors, Montclairs, Montereys, Falcons and Frontenacs and more. On my left is a bunch of 30's-50's era pickups, chevs, fords and makes I have never heard of. I was so overwhelmed I almost had a tear in my eye. Even if there was another person by my side, I wouldn't have been able to muster one word. Most of these cars are complete too, some have a little body damage, a few with smashed windshields, but everything is origional and mostly cancer free. SO I drag myself further up to yet another level which is up and around a corner to the right. Up there the first car I see is an old Hudson V8, just amazing, a model T 4dr, more falcons, even a 2dr wagon, pontiacs, internationals, jeeps, a scout and even what I believe was a 69 T-bird with a 429 Thunderjet. I couldn't believe my camera died on me so I turned it on and had enough juice to take a few more hurried pictures before it turned itself off. I kept doing this, let it sit for five minutes, turn it on and take 2-3 pics before it turns off again until it wouldn't even turn on anymore. I still got a good number of pictures out of it as proof but unfortunately I am rather computer illiterate. I would be willing to send someone these pictures via e-mail and they could post them up here for everyone to see if anyone is interested. I am still in shock over what I saw. I tried counting numerous times but kept loosing count but it was definitely 80-90 vehicles including the random cabs on flatbeds and such. Probably 50 or so full cars. And before anyone even considers asking where it is, I WILL NOT TELL. For numerous reasons. I gave the man my word and I am man of my word. He does not want people knocking on his door about them and I fully respect that. He was kind enough to let me go look at them and I will return the favour by respecting his privacy. So don't even ask. Besides, if I tell you, I have fewer options when I go back in a couple years
. So, anyone wanna see and post some pics for me?
