Draft of the Feinstein bill
Summary of 2013 legislation
Following is a summary of the 2013 legislation:
- Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:
- 120 specifically-named firearms
- Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic
- Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds
- Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:
- Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test
- Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test
- Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans
- Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.
- Protects legitimate hunters and the rights of existing gun owners by:
- Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment
- Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes and
- Exempting antique, manually-operated, and permanently disabled weapons
- Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
- Background check of owner and any transferee;
- Type and serial number of the firearm;
- Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
- Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
- Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration

Re: Draft of the Feinstein bill
Yet another politico who fails to understand that a .223 semi-auto rifle with a 30 round mag is no more dangerous than a .30-06 semi-auto rifle w/ a 5 round stripper clip. This is literally not only another excuse to curtail gun rights, but the most disgusting proof of the saying "Never let a good disaster go to waste."

Only as long as we have the second amendment. Without that we are puppets.

I guess I'm behind the times.
Exactly what is being done to take away our 1st amendment?
And, when you decide to rebel against the local, state, county police, and the US Army, Marines, and National Guard, be prepared to provide your own power, electricity, heat, water, sewage treatment, food, etc, because you will be isolated as quicker than you can say "lock and load".
Make sure your family is safe from drones, helicoptors, etc.
And, all those countries that do business in this global economy aren't going to look highly on a country in rebellion, so watch the USA economy go down the tubes.
Last, but not least, assuming you are victorious, (joke) who do you have in mind to run the country should you overthrow the government?

Is that all you are concerned about? Did you ever consider what others sacrificed for your well being? If you're not willing to fight and die for liberty and freedom, then don't stand in the way of others.

Define "people", Dan H.
I'm a senior citizen, white guy. Our numbers are dwindling, and we will soon be a minority in this country.
So, if I were a politician looking to be re-elected, or a party out of power, who do you think I would favor?
It's called survival.
