GPS mileage Tax coming to an old Ford near you
Ive been following proposals in Oregon and Virginia and the Federal govt., that want to tax driving by the mile. The State and Federal gov., has seen decreasing revenues from the per gal. gas and sales tax. by pushing the population into hybrid autos along with the raising of the CAFE standard to 54 mpg. Most of the pundits say that both type of the taxes would be in effect. This also would require A GPS type of devise to be installed in every vehicle you drive, at your expense. Probably won't go through the Congress, but by Executive order, or EPA regulations or by state. The king has stated many times that he will go around the Congress to get his agenda through.

You can write, call or just show up. If the tax is deemed necessary by the elite (and I can see the logic but not the GPS), it will be passed (as evidenced by NOBAMA CARE).
You see, our so-called representatives are bought by PAC monies. Their salary (paid by you and me) is only pocket money. Money talks and letters walk.

Re: GPS mileage Tax coming to an old Ford near you
They love to tell us quit this, do this or do that. Quit smoking, then raise taxes cause they aren't getting enough revenue from cigarette tax, drive an electric or hybrid car we're running out of dinosaur juice, help the enviroment or ride a bike and improve your health. Then again a decrease in revenue. I don't know if it passed and think it was just in Washington, a proposed fee of $100 or something added onto car registration and tabs fee each year for electric car drivers and/or hybrids because they aren't paying enough fuel tax that goes towards road repair and they still use the roads causing wear and tear. So no matter if we are told what to do, or choose to help improve the environment or our health they are darn sure going to make sure they keep their pockets lined somehow or other. It might not go through now, then again it might. But if it doesn't they will continue to try and recoup their losses.

I'm sick of the Washington Idiots myself and think they all should live by the rules they make! After the results of the election came in it's no wonder this country is in trouble and the Government knows they can get away with whatever they want.

If they do pass something like that, they ought to 'reward' people who drive gas guzling performance cars for using so much gas and paying a lot of road tax. The only time I checked my Gal it was getting 7.9 mpg driving 60 mph .

Re: GPS mileage Tax coming to an old Ford near you
They can collect fair taxes but it surely doesn't involve using GPS.
The tax is necessary (well, I guess it would be if they didn't lump it into general funds) and can be done yearly by reporting the car mileage on a tax form (the way it is done in the trucking industry).
The GPS is a sly method to gain more control by knowing where you are and have been, much like tracking a cellphone.
And yes Virginia, there are black helicopters and HOMELESS SECURITY was not implemented to protect the citizenry.

The manufactures of the devices are probably spending millions lobbying for these laws.
