Hi guys,

I just received my TMOSS GT40 intake manifold which looks nice, isn't? The fuel rails are just there for the mockup.

Now, as I'm running a carburated motor, I'm not familiair with that intake.

I need the eye of the tiger help :)

What's the purpose of the plug at the right of runner #8 (left of the big hole)? The big hole is for the PCV valve, right?

The hole I'm showing is the air intake temperature sensor, right?

And finally, what the purpose of this fitting? On the bottom left:

By the way, any good aftermarket fuel rails?

Thanks a million,

Dylan

Yes, see the pics below. TMoss knows what he is doing and is very good at flow research. He truly shapes the ports and matches the flows—not just makes them bigger. He did a nice job welding on #1 and #5 runners to take the 'knee' out. You can hardly see it. As you know, those are the weak point in the GT40 style lowers, and with his porting, will flow right up there with aftermarket heads.

Hi David,

Thanks for the explaination, as usual, you rock. It's a nice intake, no complain at all, it should be a good match with the KB :)

Throttle body heat holes? Hmm, sounds like the vintage mustang when the choke is linked to the exhaust manifold to heat up... Will be plugged.

For the heater and ECM coolant temps, shall I purchase a T on one side goes to the heater radiator and the other side, a sending?

On that intake, where do the power brake booster is plugged? I would say on the upper manifold? I hope the KB has a provision...

Yes, that is how they did it originally, though as a complete assembly, coming out of the manifold and to the rear as a tube, but with a Tee for the coolant sensor just above the manifold. A regular Tee and hose would be just fine.

Your vacuum source on a supercharger is after the throttle body and before the supercharger. Full vacuum there for brakes, transmission modulator, vacuum cannister, etc.—just like an NA carb, and never sees boost.

Dylan, I could not find the manifold heater fitting assembly from aftermarket sources, leaving either a used unit or possibly a new one from Ford. A Tee fitting may be the best option if you have a local source for NPT stuff. I'll have to measure the rear fittings to verify size, but offhand I think they are 1/4" NPT.
