EFI/PCM unit help

Ok, so I have a 5.0 with an auto tranny out of a 91' or 92' F150. It does not have an ECU/PCM unit at all. I'm trying to get this into my 66' Galaxie, so I need a solution that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg to make this work.

Does anyone have any ideas on getting this to work? Can I use a PCM from a junkyard F150 or do I need to find one that matches the motor/tranny & year exactly?

I'm a young guy starting my first project so long explanations will probably be needed. If you need pictures or anything else, I can get that too.

Thanks in advance.

Re: EFI/PCM unit help

I would ditch the truck EFI and go with mustang set up
Mustang is SEFI, Truck is Bank fire Mustang uses a stand alone engine management harness (3 harness) trucks engine management is in with main truck harness a lot harder to wire,

Truck manifold is tall ugly and awkwardly looking has dual outlet throttle body Mustang manifold is shorter and somewhat better looking single opening throttle body making inlet air plumbing a lot easier

the mustang stuff if bought properly will cost you about 150 or 200 over what you will need for the truck

Not sure what you got with you motor and tranny when you bought it

you need to identify the tranny AOD dose not need any link to the ecm
AODE need a controller

Re: EFI/PCM unit help

Ok, so I finally lifted the motor and tranny to take a look at the tranny and I believe it is an AOD only, not an AODE. I'm attaching pictures to have others verify as well.

So, I'm not a hundred percent sure, but does this mean that the PCM does not control the transmission? Or does it mean something else?
