MUSTANG II OR STRUT SUSPENSION

can someone tell which suspension would be best for my 66 mustang. I have looked at heidts and fatmans. the fatman uses the disc brakes off of 94 or later mustang. I can't use the rims i all ready have.

Best - depends on what you intend to use the car for...If you're trying to build an open track or AutoX car, then the strut makes the most sense. If you need lots of space for that moster 460 you've got on the engine stand, then the Mustang II set-up is the way to go. Personally, I like the coil-over shock conversion kits for a road race car. My $0.02.

MUSTANG II OR STRUT SUSPENSION

Remember these cars won a lot of road races without any of that crap on them.

If you do a little work with the stock suspension the car will handle very nicely. Most important is lowereing the upper control arms. Add a rack and pinion steering systerm and your car will handle like a new sports car. If you are going for a huge motor I would go with a mustang II but they do not handle very well. I have heard of the trut type suspension and that they have turning radius problems.

thanks to everyone, I need more room for 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 headers. my engine is a 351w that has been stroked to 434, these headers won't fit on a 66 mustang.
