What color is the power wire on a Am 8 track radio

Just got my long awaited am 8 track for my 66 coupe. It was repair the dash or find something to hide the damage. There is a white , orange and brown that don't have factory connectors and then two wires with a connection, colors light blue and black. They look like a speaker connection. I was thinking the orange was power! Don't want to hook it up and fry it right away. Can anyone help.

Thanks

Greg

That's an easy one. Take off the back cover and follow the orange wire to the circuit board. You will be able to tell from there.

Plus, (and you should KNOW BETTER than this) There s too LITTLE information.

What make and model is the 8 Track?

Should be one wire for the dash light (important in certain autos), one for power, and one for grounding. Then ought to be one for the speakers, like from a plug.

I got the doors and speaker grilles on my 1966.

If it's a factory unit, check this out:

This unit is a factory 1966 am/8 track. I am only replacing my cd unit to get collector plates.

Thanks for the schematic Greg, that answers the wire question. You won't believe how heavy this thing is.

Thanks

Yes, I know; I've got one, too. Make sure you come up with a support of some kind at the rear. I made up something with some holed strapping.
