on a 70 302 would there be any benefit when installing my new timing set of using the 4* advance keyway on the crank gear?or should i install it strait up?what are to pros and cons of both ways?thanks.

The only way one would know is to advance the cam and put it either on an engine or chassis dyno and compare the readings from a previous straight-up run.
Who in the world can guesstimate...
(I forgot - Half of those here can)
...the advantage of advancing a camshaft other than the early EGR engines?
Why would you buy an adjustable timing set when you don't have an application to use it on?

because the double roller set has the option of 4 retard, strait up,or 4 advance.did not buy it for that it just has the option to be able to....and the reason to ask is maybe some people have tried it on a 70ish 302 and have a opinion one way or the other.
