I have a 71 429CJ Torino Cobra that I've owned since new. I have just installed a new exhaust system stock except the mufflers, and while bolting up the H-pipe a stud pulled out of the drivers side manifold. The manifold threads are stripped, and I don't have room to make repairs with the manifold in place. I'm looking for tips on removing the manifold bolts, and hopefully not breaking them. You all know there is not much room to work in there. Any ideas from the experienced would be greatly appreciated. The motor has never been out of the car, and the manifolds have been in the same place for 42 years now.
Thank you in advance for any replies.
Mike
On my 390 I spend a week liquid wrenching the bolts and they came off surprisingly easy. Don't know anything about a 429, though.
