First thing I had to do was install a new oil pump. Previous owner said this is why it wasn't running. I did it with the motor in the car. Just removed the fan and jacked the motor up to get the oil pan out. It's alot easier to do this stuff with the hood off!!

Heres a pic of the crankshaft. I did some searching and it looks like having a copper coated connecting rod is normal, if there was a flaw in the original rod. Copper helps to balance the assembly.

Old vs new oil pump. I went with the Melling high volume oil pump.

While I had the oil pan out, decided to clean it up a little and paint it Ford blue.
