Has anyone tried to do a budget twin turbo upgrade. I have look at a lot of sites and some of them are claiming it can be done for under $1500. I was just wondering if anyone here has tried this before.

A friend of mine has almost finished his Twin Turbo installation in his "plain jane"6 super sleeper 65 Mustang coupe...nearly a 10 year project. This car is a super street one with capacity of almost 30 psi....not definitely a low buck build-up.Before the snow he just had his first miles with the car, rpm limiter set to 4400 rpm. Cam is a 320 degree one with abt .650 lift and static comp ration is 6.5 to one.Injector size is close to 100 lbs/hr.
Powerglide with 5800 rpm converter( based on 1500 hp / 1500 lbs.ft engine) 4.56 rear gears.Rear tires are 15" wide Mickey Thompsons. He was driving on 2nd gear at abt 50 mph and started to accelerate slowly. When the turbos started to make pressure the tires broke loose immediately. He just managed to realize the pressure raised to 4 psi before the rev limited cut it off at 4400n rpm.
So there definitely is some promise there...
