Thoughts on stainless steel hoses

What do you guys think about stainless steel radiator hoses? Would a regular rubber hose be better?

Are you talking about SS hose like the AQP racing hose or just the SS hose covers?

If the covers, then regular rad hose.

If AQP, then if you were doing endurance racing or NASCAR or....but street, kinda costly in my books when regular rad hoses tend to weather pretty good and with stand the head in the engine compartment.

I just cut up regular hose and use the appropriate size aluminized (and painted) muffer pipe to connect the ends for my AL radiator conversion. The SS tubes are nice, but I can't see spending the cash on them.

I got a hold of two Summit stainless steel radiator hoses but they are about and inch in diameter. My main concern is the restriction they might cause. Wouldn't the smaller diameter restrict the coolant flow?
