302/351w starter on 351c

I need a high torque starter for my cleveland and was wondering if the ones advertised for 302/351w will work.

Also does anybody know of a good one that wont break the bank?

Thanks; Jeff

CVR protorque starter are about the best cost conscious starters I've seen to date. They work great, not THAT expen$ive.

I'm almost postitive that the same starter for a windsor also fits the 335 series engines.

Go to a boneyard and ask for a '93 F 150 starter for a 4.9 inline-6. It is a permanent magnet starter that will save you about 8 pounds, and it will crank your engine. It will work on a 289,302,351 W or 351 C. It does not matter if it is for a manual or automatic, it will work on either. These things will last forever. I have one on my 14:1 351 W and it turns it over with no problem. I also have them on all my street cars. Get a good used one, do not try to buy a rebuild. The same starter is listed in the Ford Performance catalog. I usually pay $ 35.00. They came on other cars, but I am sure of the F 150 application.

Great info! Sounds like a deal. What about hot starting? Any problems there?
