turn signals and brake lights!

hey everyone, my truck is finally driveable! but... not street legal YET.
i need to get my turn signals and brake lights working. the wiring on the truck should probably be redone ( again..) i was wondering if anyknows where i could find a wiring harness for a 74 ford courier ( i realize there are probably no companies that make them) or could some one tell me an easy way to hok up turn signals and brake lights?

brake light would be easy to hook up if there were 2 bulbes in each tail light ( like many newer cars) but i only have one buld in each tail light, so i assume u need a relay that transfers more power to the rear light upon hiting the brake pedal? i dont know if that is right but thats my best guess.I am interest in buying a new brake relay if thats what i need, i notice painless carries one but i dont know if it will work.

my turn signals i am having horrible problems with. right now when i put on the turn signals, the correct one will illuminate but it will not flash? could this just be a defective flasher, or is this my relay? i am interested in buyng a brand new relay and flasher but i donot know if they make a universal turn signal relay kit, i could not find on from painless...

Maybe i could use relays out of another car, i want to keep the wiring to a minimum, there is basically nothing in the truck just the basics.. guages, ignition, turn signals, brake lights, headlights, and a small stereo
so i want to keep it very simple. more wires = more potential problems

if anyone has any other reomendations please let me know. i just want to get these two minor problems working so i can insure this beast

Can't help you with the wiring harness but if you truck has the combination brake and signal lights then they all go through the turnsignal switch.

If the bulb lights but doesn't flash it may be the flasher but it also may mean all the bulbs in the system are not working. The flasher needs a certain amount of load to operate if one bulb is out then it will usually just light but not flash. Bad bulbs, wiring and poor grounds can cause this condition.

Couriers are actually Mazda trucks so that may help you in searching for parts etc.
