oil pump gasket or not?

You guys use an oil pump gasket at the mating surface of a 5.0 block? My kit does not have one.

Yep. But don't use any sealer on it or any extra that gets squeeze out will go places you don't want it to go. I wet the gasket with oil to get it to stick to the pump.

Needs a gasket, otherwise it'll leak. Also the pump to pickup tube needs one to or it'll suck air.

ive never ran a gasket, reason is if that gasket blows out, youll have a gap between the block and pump, some bleeding of oil press is normal in this area, same ass the controlled bleeding in your rotating assy.just make sure your pump/block mating surfaces are flat.ive never put a gasket in my engines.now i def put one at pump to pickup that way it wont suck air.
