Distributer ID Help

I need help to ID my distributer. I need to order a new Pertronix pick-up and don't know which one to order. Here are a couple of pic's and a link to the Pertronix catalog. I powdercoated this distributer and put the new sticker on it so the model is not known. It is a Mallory Unilite but which one? Thanks for any help!

Re: Distributer ID Help

What's tha matta wit the one in the dist right now?

If it's dimensions that matter just measure. The 8 cylinders and their hitting points should not change with each dist. Right?

Re: Distributer ID Help

I left the ignition on for 48 hours and the pickup died. I started the motor for a friend and forgot to turn the battery kill switch off. Full left with the ignition key power is still on. This German beer has an effect at 11pm. "Dude, listen to my V8" I just need to figure out which model my dizzy is to get the right pick up. Thanks,,

Re: Distributer ID Help

It looks like the distributor I have which has no model on it anywhere. But it does take this module: Mallory 605 - Mallory Replacement Ignition Modules - summitracing.com+

Accel makes the same module for half the cost but I guess my point is, you can go back to its original innards.

Re: Distributer ID Help

I still don't know HOW they know what their own part's are without any Part IDENTIFIER markings on their products...

So, Unless they are all the same, in which case it's a damn gimmick to charge more for one than another, they should be able to tell whick one you have.

Don't this make sense?

Re: Distributer ID Help

The only thing different in my mind is the mount plate and the shape of the trigger to slip on the shaft. The electronics inside would be the same. I just have been too lazy to sit on hold for 45 minutes paying long distance charges. Was just wondering if some else had the same dizzy and knew their model #. Thanks Gary for the input. SHU

Re: Distributer ID Help

OOooh, I get it. I too would rather stop in for Q&A time here than sit on the phone for 45 minutes

But I hate that they don't put an obvious ID # or info on the unit it's self to help ID it.
