Need cheap disc brakes 70 torino

I know there are a lot of $600 plus disc brake kits out there for my 70 Torino, but I can't afford that plus booster etc... I was wondering what cars I should look for in the junkyard? What years have the same spindles. I just got the car, it runs good, but don't stop worth a dang. This is my first post. please help.

Re: Need cheap disc brakes 70 torino

On my 71 torino I used to have a set of 74 maverick discs I pulled from the junkyard I think the total swap with new bearings discs and loaded calipers cost around 300. Also look up rcmotorsports.net they sell disc swaps ford drum spindles for around 300, my brother used one on his girlfriends 67 cougar and worked great. hope this helps

With the maverick rotors don't I still need a caliper bracket? Will the mav brackets work? Any machining? The ebay kit list up to a 69 Torino does anyone know the difference?
