2011 Mustang GT 412 HP!

I wonder how long it will be before FM posts the latest news about the the 2011 Mustang GT, 412 HP 5.0 litre 4 cam, 32 valve, N/A, variable valve timing. As if the 3.7 6cyl news wasn't good enough, now it turns out there'a a whole new 5.0 motor for the GT in `11. IMO it's about time, both new motors for `11 are direct, in your face answers to the portly 3900 lb Camaro, similar HP and torque #'s only 400 lbs less mass to haul around with the Mustang.

Re: 2011 Mustang GT 412 HP!

I asked over at themustangsource.com forums about performance, theyre talking [email protected] for the v6, [email protected] for the GT- pretty impressive.

13 seconds with a V6 in a 3400 pound car that can get over 30 mpg- Nice

still wish theyd change that rear bumper/taillamps to something more mustang-like though...to me that car still screams MUSTANG from the front/side views, but the angled taillamps/chamferred bumper with the huge black thing under it just dont 'fit' IMO.

with the new motors, the great job they did on the interior for '10, its sure to sell pretty well (long as Ford keeps pricing relatively where it is) no matter what the opinions on the rearend are- but, theres been enough negative opinions over it since the unveiling to say it definitely wasnt a 'home run' of a design change...the day after seeing the 'reveal' on the speed channel, went and bought a 'spare' 09 identical to our 06gt (wifes got a 07 V6 too- all 3 vista blue).
guess we'll have to wait for the 2014 to see the next styling change...and hope the V8 is still around then- at the rate they are going, sadly I think the days of the affordable V8 are numbered...
even if the V6 has more hp/torque, I'll always be a sucker for the V8 sound though- would like to think the V8 will be around forever, but got a feeling they will be gone the way of the bigblocks within another 5 yrs...

CONFIDENCE: that feeling you get just before you realize the mess you got yourself into...

Did I forget to mention 6 speed manual and 6 speed A/T? 14 inch brakes? 12% stiffer platform? It should be a fun car, can't wait.

the convertible is 1000% stiffer

they said, no typo- one thousand percent. Fords engineering guys have been very busy apparently

curious how the new electric steering will 'feel' compared to the old...I'd say 'perfect' is the best word I can use to describe handling/feedback of my 06, just wonder how good it can get- but I'm sure they have been working on that too
