Shaft rockers for AFR 205 heads

Good day to all! I have a set of older T&D shaft rockers for stock heads (#7300-60-60) that are close to working on my AFR 205 heads, but the rockers are not off-set causing the pushrods to ride significantly to one side (rubbing the head). I want to buy another set of shaft rockers, but they seem to have skyrocketed over the years. So, like everyone else, every penny has to count. Has anyone run a set of T&D Sport Comp shaft rockers (#10020-60-60)? Did you have to clearance them, were there any other modifications needed, were the pushrods centered in the pushrod holes?

In short, I am running a 393W for drag racing with a fair-sized solid roller cam. I may end up selling my current T&Ds (any takers?) to fund the correct set. I have pictures of the rockers if anyone is interested.

While on the same subject, any input on the Jesel Sportsman shafts?

I don't have an answer for you but you did possibly manage to indirectly answer my post from a few weeks ago. I had a question about using my Probe shaft mount rockers for stock heads on AFRs. I'm going to get AFR Renegade 185s. It used to be that stock heads and AFR heads use the same rockers, but that was 7-8 years ago. It sounds like there really is a difference. I was going to wait until I got the heads to see the difference and if the rockers don't fit then i'll sell them and get a new set or maybe go back to really good stud mount units. I rev to 7500 and the Probes were less than $500 in '06 when I got them.

Re: T&D shaft rockers for AFR 205 heads

I love reviving old threads. Why? Because we read them to further our own knowledge and there is rarely any closure to most. Well, I'm about closure and/or results. As you can see from the original post, I was asking about T&D shaft rockers. I was trying to fit competition shaft #7300 on a set of AFR 205 heads, but there was a problem. The pushrod would rub the side of the pushrod hole. I recently purchased a T&D set of sportsman shaft rockers, #10020-60-60 and they fit the AFR 205 heads perfectly! The pushrod is now centered in the pushrod hole as compared to the #7300 set. The main difference between the two rockers was length. The #7300 is 1.52" long and the #10020 is 1.45". The distance between the tip and pushrod cup still ratios to 1.6 between both rockers. In comparing both the "competition" and "sportsman" set of shaft rockers, I see very little difference. Both appear to be build with equal and quality standards. One more nice thing about the #10020 set is that they seem to fit more heads as compared to the #7300 set.
