Re: Looking for info on this Fairlane

Magnus , I will PM you this same ? , did you have any clearance problems with you windshield wiper motor , mine is hitting , I unbolted the wiper motor and installed the power booster/mastercylinder set up and can not get the wiper motor mounted back up to stock holes , I would have to drill new holes about 3/4 of a inch toward the passengers side of the car.
Any info would be great , thanks

Have you considered a non adjustable combination valve? That is what I am using. No hassles with adjusting and unless your front & rear end have vastly different size tires there is no reason to hassle with an adjustable unit. Just get a disc/disc if your going to run 4 wheel discs or a disc/drum if your going to run drums in the rear. You can also convert a disc/drum to a disc/disc if you decide to upgrade to disc in the rear later on. Probably cost you less also than that fancy wilwood unit. If you look at my build thread that is what I used on my build and I have no issues. I would recommend no matter what brake kit you decide on to run stainless hoses though. The reason is not only are they safer from being cut, but they also don't swell. When you apply your brakes with rubber hoses they swell and that reduces your brakes effectiveness. That's why one reason why traditionally you tried to keep the rubber hoses to as short as possible in your braking system. With the stainless lines you get harder/faster applying brakes.

Re: Looking for info on this Fairlane

Thank Magnus, I have seen one picture of your power booster in your build tread, looks like you had loss of room, is your wiper motor one speed OR 2 speed ? Is your car a US made car OR a Canadian made car?
Thanks

Re: Looking for info on this Fairlane

Gunner- You can simply rotate the wiper motor, no need to drill new holes. I did this to clear my booster/MC combo
You just clock the mount/motor & bolt it back on, I think you may have to pull wipers, to re clock them to park position, I did this, about 4-5 years ago so memory failing me!
I;ve got pics, just posted over at Fairlane club site for guys with same issues
Having issues trying to post pics here
You email me I can send pics to you, if this helps
Roy
will pm you email #

Mine is a Texas car with single speed. I'd take a look at what Royster put up though & see if that helps. Seems like a better option.
