Hi Gang,

Need some help identifying the correct shade of blue for vinyl dash on this interior. The dash blue matches the seats and door panels.

I ordered medium blue metallic vinyl paint from Ecklers but it was WAY too light. I have a shipment of dark blue coming Eckler's but fear it may bee too dark. :(

Any assistance would be much appreciated. the interior code off of the plate is 32A.

Thanks,
Brian

Brian,
I don't know if any of this will help you, but I will put my $.02 in. I have been doing a bit of restoration work on my 1965 Ford Custom (Galaxie).
I do not know if the colors of our interiors are the same or similar, but they might be. I sprayed the kick panels and parts of the dash with
Dupli-Color #BCC0388 (Teal Metallic). This is a Chrysler color. Also, very close in color is Dupli-Color #BGM0539 (Light Blue Metallic). This
is a GM color. Both of these are, I assume, exterior colors. My '65 has several shades of blue in the interior. I also cut from some hard board
a piece to go on the package shelf (below the rear window) and sprayed the rough side with the Dupli-Color #BCC0388 and it came out very nice.
These colors are available at your auto parts store. These are, of course, exterior paint colors and are somewhat glossy. And, i used these colors
on plastic and wood (hardboard) with good results. I do not think they would work on vinyl.
Purchase and try one of these cans of spray paint and see if you like the color match. Also, i purchase and used a Molotow brand Liquid Chrome pen,
available on-line or at a craft store, to touch up some chrome plated plastic (small outlines) on the dash. This worked out nicely, too. For durability,
these painted items should probably be sprayed with a clear coat, too, but i have not done that yet.
